Wire connecting apparatus comprising a connector holder (72) and wire connecting means (66, 66 min ) mounted for relative longitudinal traverse by indexing means (67 min , 69) to bring individual contacts of a connector (71) when mounted in the connector holder (72) successively into alignment with the wire connecting means (66, 66 min ); and, a cable clamp (12) linked to the indexing means (67, 69) by cam means (24, 27) arranged to effect relative movement between the cable clamp (12) and the connector holder (72) both in longitudinal and transverse directions for at least part of the traverse. The cam means (24, 27) comprises a stationary guide cam (27) engaging cam follower (24) mounted intermediate the ends of a link arm (13) one end of which is pivotally connected to the indexing means (67, 69) the other end carrying the cable clamp (12). |
