RUBBING DETECTOR FOR ROTARY MACHINE

PURPOSE:To accurately detect the generation of rubbing without being affected by the state of a plant by amplifying a received signal from an acoustic detection sensor with a predetermined amplification factor according to a rotating speed and a load. CONSTITUTION:A storage circuit 8 is stored with the amplification factor previously according to information on the rotating speed and load from a rotary machine 1 which are obtained through acoustic detection sensors 4a and 4b. Then amplifiers 5 (5a and 5b) input received signals from the acoustic detection sensors 4a and 4b and read amplification data out of the storage circuit 8 according to the rotating speed and load to determine the amplification factor based upon the amplification data. The output of the amplifier 5 is therefore controlled to a constant value at all times. Then rotating speed synchronizing filter processes 10 (10a and 10b) wherein the degree of amplitude modulation is found from the constant acoustic signals of the amplifiers 5 are performed so as to check rubbing generation. The output sine waves of the filters 10 indicate only the degree of amplitude modulation, so the generation of rubbing can be monitored by monitors 12a and 12b. Then arithmetic processing 13 is performed to monitor the rubbing generation position.
