<p>Transferring images e.g. photographs or drawings in black and white or colour to an embroidery material for working by hand, comprises digitising the image by means of a suitable scanner capable of differentiating the different colours and/or grey shades, and computerising the digital information to define the original image in the form of colour or half-tone pixels. The computer can then be used to produce a print-out of the pixel pattern onto the embroidery fabric using a matrix printer, ink jet printer, laser printer, etc., and the print-out can be used directly as a base for embroidery or other hand-working technique.</p> |
