PURPOSE:To obtain a preventing agent for diabetes, containing cholera toxins as an active ingredient, and having preventing effects particularly on I type diabetes caused by autoimmune diseases. CONSTITUTION:The aimed solution obtained by blending cholera toxins which are proteins consisting of one subunit (A) having about 27,000 molecular weight and 5 subunits (B) having about 11,600 molecular eight with a normally used excipient, e.g. diluent, buffering agent, osmotic pressure regulator, stabilizer, preservative, etc., and converting the blend into a pharmaceutical by a conventional method. For example, the cholera toxins in a concentration of 0.1-2.0mg/ml are blended with physiological saline solution of phosphoric acid buffer solution to afford an injection. The dose thereof at a time is normally 0.5-50mug/kg and is preferably blended with physiological saline solution or phosphoric acid buffer solution and parenterally administered by, e.g. intravenous, intraperitoneal, intramuscular, subscutaneous injection, etc. |
