PURPOSE:To correct eccentric position relations to concentric position relations between a reel retainer and a tape reel by providing a recessed part and a projecting part, which can be brought into contact with each other only in the center of rotation of the tape reel or its vicinity, on the other end face of a hub and the pressing face of the reel retainer respectively. CONSTITUTION:A recessed part 127 and a projecting part 120 which can be brought into point or line contact with each other only in the center of rotation of a tape reel 106 or its vicinity are provided on the other end face of a hub 104 and a pressing force 121, which is brought into contact with the hub 104, of a reel retainer 111 respectively. Consequently, the reel retainer 111 is energized in the centripetal direction by the pressing force between the pressing force 121 and the other end face when this tape cassette is set to a video tape recorder or the like and the pressing face 121 and the other end face are in the press-contacting state. Further, the reel retainer is moved to the position to have the same center as the tape reel and is stopped. Thus, concentric position relations are secured in case of rotation of the tape reel.
