PURPOSE:To maintain the drop raising width of temperature at the end part of a roll at the time of continuous paper feeding within an effective fixing temperature range by switching the current supply enabled range of a heater to a whole-length heat generating state and a partial heat generating state at every prescribed time at the time of paper feeding. CONSTITUTION:At the time of paper feeding, paper feeding enabled timing signals are inputted to AND gates AND1, AND2 so that temperature control is alternately executed by long and short heaters 21, 20. Since the long and short heaters for controlling the temperature of the roll are alternately switched at the time of paper feeding, a heat applying state and a heat no-application state are alternately repeated on the end part of the roll at every prescribed time, so that a temperature drop at the end part of the roll which may be generated in the case of feeding paper of small-sized form by controlling the temperature only by the short heater or a temperature raise at the end part of the roll which may be generated in the case of feeding paper of large-sized form by controlling the temperature only by the long heater can be released.
