PURPOSE:To improve the precision of a noise removal by transmitting a gate pulse necessary for removing of a noise while multiplexing the pulse with the output of a solid-state image pickup device, and regenerating the gate pulse from the signal with a comparator, and sampling the output from a differential amplifier by impressing the regenerated pulse to a switching circuit. CONSTITUTION:The output of a subtractor 3 is supplied to the comparator 8. When the comparator which outputs 'H' or 'L' when an input signal is lower or higher than a reference voltage respectively, is used for this comparator 8, the gate pulse is regenerated. The gate pulse is supplied to the switch circuit 10, and the output of the differential amplifier 7 is sampled at a timing that the gate pulse goes to 'H'. The output of the differential amplifier 7 goes to a value without having a noise component at the timing that the gate pulse is 'H'. Therefore, when the output of the differential amplifier 7 is sampled at the timing that the gate pulse goes to 'H', and is smoothed by a low pass filter 11, and image pickup signal, from which the noise component is removed, can be obtained from a signal output terminal 12.
