PURPOSE:To suspend printing on the way of a page by constituting the controller part of a laser printer so that it can receive a printing suspension interrupting signal from a keyboard. CONSTITUTION:When it is detected that the suspension key of a keyboard 109 is depressed, a keyboard driver 212 calls the suspension routine of a laser printer driver 209. By the suspension routine, a suspension flag provided on the OS inside is set, and also, a suspending interruption is generated in a laser printer 104. A controller part 210 received the suspension interruption suspends the processing, and thereafter, a command is not executed until a restart instruction is given. In a printing control program 206, a suspension flag is checked before executing a function issued from a printing management program 203 and a printing program 201, and when it is set, the function is not executed.
