PURPOSE:To lower residual potential, to stabilize electric characteristics and to enhance adhesion of a support to a photoconductive layer by forming an interlayer composed essentially of a specified hydrazone compd. and an insulating resin between a conductive substrate and the photoconductive layer made of Se, an Se alloy, or an Se compd. CONSTITUTION:An interlayer formed on a conductive substrate cotains an insulating resin, such as polyester or butyral resin, alone or a mixture of them, as a binder resin, and a hydrazone compd. represented by the formula shown here in which R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is lower alkyl, phenyl, phenyl or benzyl both substd. by lower alkyl; and R3 is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or H. Se, an alloy, such as Se-Te, are vapor deposited to the interlayer to form a photoconductive layer. Addition of the hydrazone compd. to the interlayer brings about especially great reduction of residual potential, no fluctuation of it even during repeated uses, and long life. |
