HYBRID PLASMID FOR BREEDING DUE TO METHYL METABOLIZING BACTERIA AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

A region which corresponds to the origin of replication is mapped and isolated, with the aid of the restriction enzyme Not I, from the plasmid pBE 3 from Methylomonas clara DSM 2397. It is possible, by joining this origin of replication to any other desired plasmids, to prepare hybrids which are capable of stable replication in methylotrophic bacteria.
