PURPOSE:To obtain an immobilized protein resistant to peeling from immobilization carrier and useful for clinical chemical analysis, etc., by treating a solid material with plasma, introducing a functional group reactive with protein to the surface of the solid material and reacting the functional group with protein. CONSTITUTION:A solid material (e.g. plate made of polymethyl methacrylate) is subjected to plasma-treatment to introduce functional groups reactive with protein to the surface of the solid material. A protein is immobilized to the solid material by reacting the functional group with a protein (e.g. anti-human immunogloblin), thereby bonding the protein to the surface of the solid material. The functional group reacting with the protein is preferably aldehyde group, carboxyl group, amino group, hydroxyl group, hydroperoxyl group, carbonyl group or thiol group.
