Vehicles used in printing, dyeing, discharging and optional whitening of cellulose acetate based materials, consist of acyclic cpds. containing gp(s). of general formula: -CH(R')-CH(R)-CN where R and R' are each H or CH3. The vehicles well the fibres and solubilise the dyes, and thus allow diffusion of the molecules and better fixing of the dyes.
