PURPOSE:To raise the production efficiency, and also, to miniaturize a device by separating a second holding body from a first holding body, moving the former so as to approach a third holding body, and executing almost simultane ously parting of a pin stock between the first and the second holding bodies and upsetting the pin stock between the second and the third holding bodies. CONSTITUTION:A pin stock 24 is fed in until it penetrates all of the first-the third holding bodies 56, 83 and 88, and in a state that the holding body 83 is stopping at the nearest position to the first holding body, the pin stock 24 is held from the upper and lower parts by the holding bodies 56, 83. In this state, the pin stock 24 between each holding body 56, 83 and 88 is heated and softened, and also, the holding body 83 is separated from the holding body 56 and moved so as to approach the third holding body 88. In such a way, the pin stock 24 between the holding bodies 56, 83 is parted, and simultaneously, an intermediate part of the pin stock 24 between the holding bodies 83, 88 is bulged and a flange part 106 is formed.
