PURPOSE:To eliminate magnetic noise from an external magnetic field by separating the inside peripheral surface of a cylindrical magnetic shield member consisting of a ferromagnetic material, by a prescribed distance from a recording and reproducing core and the outside peripheral surface of an erasing core, and superposing and sticking its one end opening part to a gimbal spring to which a magnetic head has been attached. CONSTITUTION:In the figure, when a current is allowed to flow to a recording and reproducing coil 13, while rotating a flexible disk in the direction A, a DC magnetic field corresponding to a direction of the current is generated in a recording and reproducing core 11, and information is written in the flexible disk by the DC magnetic field leaking out of a recording and reproducing gap 12. On the other hand, since a DC current is allowed to flow to the succeeding erasing coil 17, as well, a DC magnetic field corresponding to magnitude of a current is generated in both opposed erasing cores 15a, 15b being adjacent to the recording and reproducing core 11, and by a DC magnetic field leaking out of the respective erasing gaps 16a, 16b, both sides of an information band written by the recording and reproducing gap 12 are erased.
