A device for monitoring voltage surge deflectors includes at least one surge deflector (1) with a defect indicator (2) and a switching element (3, 4) which can be activated by the indicator (2) on the failure or removal of a deflector (1). The surge deflectors are similarly directed and are arranged immediately adjacent to one another, so that monitoring of a plurality of voltage surge deflectors (1) from a distance is made possible, the danger of inductive coupling is diminished, and the danger of arcing over is excluded as completely as possible. An optical emitter (3) and receiver (4) are provided as the switching element, whereby signals sent from the emitter (3) to the receiver (4) pass through a signal path (5) which can be interrupted by a cam-operated shutter in defect indicator (2). <IMAGE> |
