The invention relates to a system for write control in a branching record table. This system comprises a branching record table which stores, in order to form a pair, a branch instruction address and a branch destination address for the branch instruction comprising: write indication means 7 for producing a write indication signal for indicating that a branch destination address is being written into the said branch record table on the basis of the result of the execution of a branch instruction; a repetitive execution display means 6 for producing a repetitive execution display signal indicating that a series of trains of instructions are being repetitively executed; and inhibition means 71, 72 sensitive to an execution display signal originating from the said repetitive execution display means for preventing a write indication signal being sent as validation signal of the branch record table. The invention improves the loop branch performance by preventing a wasted write into the branch record table in the course of execution of a loop. <IMAGE>
