PURPOSE:To rapidly and accurately measure the balance of a car body, by supporting the bottom surface of the car body at three points and using a scale having a laser emitter freely up-and-down movable and revolvable and a beam receiver freely movable up and down. CONSTITUTION:By supporting a car body at three points, when strain, twist or the like are generated in the car body, they directly appear. A scale 16 shown by Fig (a) is suspended at each of four measuring points of the bottom surface of the car body supported at three points and a laser emitter 8 shown by Fig (b) is arranged at a position where laser beam is easy to impinge with respect to the beam receiver 14 provided to the scale 16 in a freely up-and-down movable manner. After the completion of setting, a beam emitting parts 8a is revolved to confirm whether laser beam impinges against other beam receiver 14. When there is the beam receiver against which laser beam impinges, the clamp screw 20 of an attachment is loosened to allow the beam receiver 14 to move up and down at a position where laser beam does not impinge. The position of each beam receiver 14 is read by graduations 16a and the state of strain or twist can be grasped on the basis of the errors between four measuring points.
