Method of obtaining packaging for food products, of the heat-shrinkable and heat-sealable transparent plastic film type, the water- and gas-permeability of which is tested, characterised in that a support layer, constituted by a thin film called a food-grade film made of heat-shrinkable polyolefin, is coated with a varnish based on a plasticised polyester resin diluted by solvent and provided with an antioxidant, capable of rendering the film heat-sealable between 120 and 150 DEG C and then after optionally printing in one or more colours, a series of controlled microperforations is made on the coated film in order to obtain the desired permeability. Application to the packaging of soft cheeses and other agri-foodstuff products.
