PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition of long shelf life, with good workability due to its low viscosity, by incorporating a specific curing accelerator in a composition comprising a liquid epoxy resin and liquid polycarboxylic acid anhydride as the curing agent followed by aging at specified temperatures. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by blending (A) an epoxy resin liquid at normal temperature, (B) as the curing agent, a polycarboxylic acid anhydride liquid at normal temperature, and (C) as the curing accelerator, a reaction product from (i) an epoxy compound (ii) a tertiary aminated active hydrogen compound (e.g., 2-dimethylaminoethanol, 1-(2- hydroxy-3-phenoxypropyl)-2-methylimidazole) and, if needed, (iii) a polyvalent active hydrogen compound or carboxylic acid anhydride followed by aging the resultant blend at 20-60 deg.C.
