PURPOSE:To efficiently manufacture a FRP cylinder having uneven parts with favortable shape accuracy by a method wherein split molds are covered with a flexible thin film under the state that a predetermined gap is provided between the axially divided surfaces of a recessed parr forming part and, after that, a resin-impregnated continuous fiber is wound round the film and, after the axially divided surfaces are abutted against each other and an outer die is brought into close contact with the wound fiber, formed by curing. CONSTITUTION:A projecting-and-recessed part forming die 11 is divided peripherally into plural parts, and also divided axially in a recessed part forming part 11b, which lines between projecting part forming parts 11a and 11a. Right side members 11' are bundled by an end ring 12, while left side members 11'' are bundled by an end ring 13 so as to be able to axially shift together with the ring 13. Firstly, split molds 10 are covered with a film 2 made preferably of synthetic resin under the state that a gap G is provided between the axially divided surfaces of the projecting-and-recessed part forming die 11 by separating into 11' and 11'' at the recessed part forming part 11b. Next, a resin-impregnated continuous fiber 1 is wound round the outer surface of the film. Further, the gap G is brought to null by bringing closely the separated dies 11' and 11'' to each other until the axially divided surfaces are brought into close contact with each other. After that, an other die is adhered, onto the outer periphery of a fiber-wound layer 1. Finally, the layer 1 is formed by curing.
