PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition having excellent water-resistance, anticorrosion property, drinking water suitability and coating workability and low production cost and useful for the coating of steel pipe, tank, etc., of waterworks, by adding a specific modifier to a polyol resin and an isocyanate hardener. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is composed mainly of a mixture produced by compounding (A) 100pts.wt. of a crosslinkable resin component consisting of (i) a polyol resin (preferably epoxy-modified polyol resin) and (ii) an isocyanate hardener, (B) 45-75pts.wt. of a paint modifier consisting of (iii) a resin produced by adding one or more compounds selected from phenol and alkyl derivative of phenol in an amount of >=6wt.% to coumarone resin or a petroleum resin stock oil and polymerizing the mixture, (iv) a styrenated phenolic resin and (v) a cyclopentadiene resin and (C) an extender pigment. The component B is preferably those produced by the addition polymerization of 6-12% phenol (or its alkyl derivative) to a coumarone resin stock oil.
