The window or door fixed wooden frame (4) is installed in the masonry (42) and has an integral flange (32) at the top and sides extending into the window opening, accommodating a leaf (2) with a wooden frame (6) contg. a recess (12) for a glass pane (8). The chamber between the leaf and the fixed frame is divided, with the window or door shut, by an elastic seal (36) into a first section (28) in the opening direction, and a second one (34). The recess (12) accommodating the pane faces, away from the opening direction, and a profiled strip (14) on this side covers the leaf frame. The glass pane is detachably mounted on the former, sealed to the pane via an elastomer strip (16). The chamber (20) enclosed by the strip, leaf frame, and glass pane is connected by ports (15) to the second chamber section. ADVANTAGE - No condensation along the glass pane edge on inside, with anti-rotting protection.
