PURPOSE:To obtain a composition having excellent balance of heat resistance and impact resistance, extremely improved impact resistance and high molding properties, consisting of a dispersed phase of a specific polyphenylene ether, a thermoplastic resin matrix phase and a compatibilizing agent. CONSTITUTION:A composition consisting of (A) a dispersed phase obtained by subjecting one or more phenolic compounds shown by the formula (R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are H, halogen or polymer and at least one of R1-R5 is necessarily H), (B) a crystalline thermoplastic resin matrix phase and (C) a compatibilizing agent capable of compatibilizing the components A and B and having 0.01-10mu average particle diameter of the dispersed phase. The component A used has 0.45-0.55 reduced viscosity in a chloroform solution at 25 deg.C, polyethylene, polypropylene, etc., are used as the component B and an epoxy compound, etc., are used as the component C.
