A gear machine has a housing (10 to 12) in which two toothed wheels (13, 14) mesh in outer engagement. Their journals are mounted in bushing- or horseshoe-like bearings (19, 20). Between the bearings and the lateral faces of the toothed wheels are arranged sealing plates (26, 27) that are brought into sealing contact with the lateral faces of the toothed wheels by axial pressure fields (30, 31). In order to achieve an optimum sealing effect, relief grooves (32, 33) linked to the low-pressure or suction side of the machine extend around the outer circumference of the bearings, next to the sealing plates.
|
