A block (1) is formed with an opening (5) into which the end of a tubular member (51) extending through the switchboard panel (60) can be secured by resilient locking. The opening (5) is for making the required connections between apparatus eg. switch operator (106) mounted in the tubular member (51) and a component eg switch (107), which is secured to the block (1) on the side remote from the tubular member. For the purpose of resilient locking, the block (1) has two hooks (2, 14) adapted to co-operate with matching shapes (44) on the tubular means. A first hook (2) is stationary relative to the block (1) whereas the second hook (14) is carried by a slide (6) connected integrally to the block (1) by partitions (7 - 9) which are resiliently deformable so that the slide (6) can be moved by a tool being introduced into an eye (11). The block (1) is stiffened by members (22, 23) and by a crosspiece (29) through which the tool can be introduced, and plural blocks can be mounted closely with eyes (11) and crosspieces (29) interengaging with matching recesses in adjacent blocks. <IMAGE>
