<p>An aspirator (11) for aspirating wound fluids contains a small amount of a pressure-regulating fluid (16) selected so that its vapour pressure matches the desired aspirating negative pressure. This has the advantage of maintaining the negative pressure until the aspirator is almost completely filled, or even reducing it, namely in the case of a fluid selected for its ability to dissolve in the aspirated secretions. The negative pressure can be modified by changing the temperature. The aspirator can have thinner walls than previous aspirators, since the danger of deformation during sterilisation is reduced as a result of the increase in the inner pressure due to the increase in temperature. The negative pressure can be further maintained or modified by means of a negative pressure reducer, that can also be merely used as pressure display means. In that case, it can have a finger-shaped, flexible, self-bordering membrane. In order to link the aspirator to a joining tube linked to a wound draining tube, a joining device is provided designed as an aspiration regulating device.</p> |
