PURPOSE:To perform uniform auxiliary discharge so as to stabilize main discharge, by disposing peaking capacitors, which have internal and external electrodes, in the vicinity of one main electrode part and forming discharge bumps on the external electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A pair of peaking capacitors 10a and 10b arranged along an optical resonance axis are disposed on both side parts of one main discharge electrode 3. The peaking capacitors 10a and 10b have internal and external electrodes 14 and 15 which are respectively disposed on internal and external surfaces of tube bodies 13 made of ceramics. A plurality of bumps 16 are formed for discharge operation on the external electrodes 15. Since such composition allows the bumps 16 to increase the quantity of auxiliary discharge electrodes, uniform auxiliary discharge can be performed between pin electrodes 4b and the bumps. Therefore, main discharge between the main discharge electrodes 2 and 3 can be stabilized. |
