PURPOSE:To obtain a simple and inexpensive laser printer by arranging a rotary member mounting light emitting members to be vertically rotated in the vicinity of a photosensitive drum to be horizontally rotated and radiating light from the light emitting member on the drum through an ftheta lens and a mirror to generate an electrostatic latent image. CONSTITUTION:The rotary member 1 to be uniformly rotated by a vertical shaft 12 is arranged in the vicinity of the photosensitive drum 21 to be uniformly rotated by a horizontal shaft 22 and having uniform diameter and plural light emitting members 13 are symmetrically arranged on the surface of the member 11. The light emitting member 13 is constituted of a case 16 storing a semiconductor laser 14 and a collimater lens 15. Light from the light emitting member 13 constituted as described above is radiated on the surface of the drum 21 through the ftheta lens 17 and the mirror 8 and while uniformly charging the surface of the drum 21 by an electrostatic charger 23, toner is stuck to the surface of the drum 21. The stuck toner is transferred to recording paper S by a transfer device 25 and fixed by a fixing device 26. Thus, an expensive rotating polygon mirror can be omitted and a printer can be manufactured at a low cost.
