The system includes measuring carriages (2, 3, 4, 5) which are spatially aligned relative to the reference base (6) and on which are mounted transmitters (8, 9, 16, 17) and adjusters (10, 11, 12) for adjusting the side, profile and height position of the track, and also drive control units (13, 14, 15) for the aligning member (7), which is arranged in the cab of the track machine (1). The adjusters (10, 11, 12) include a vernier (21) whose shaft is connected to a gearing (22), a rotor (23) which is connected to the gearing (22) and to a scale (24), and also a stator (25). On the track sections of variable curvature, the rotor (23) is shifted by a constant amount q relative to the zero position, and the position of the aligning member (7) relative to the reference base (6) is expressed by the formula f1 = kf2 + q where f1 is displacement of the aligning member (7) with respect to the reference base (6), and f2 is track displacement relative to the reference base (6).
