The invention relates to a dowel having a sleeve, exhibiting a continuous bore, and having an expansion element which is received by the bore, which is configured as a threaded bore at one end, in the non-threaded portion. In order that the dowel is seated in a positively locking manner and, nevertheless, requires only one cylindrical bore, it is provided that the sleeve exhibits, in the non-threaded portion, a plurality of transverse bores which open in a radial plane of the sleeve, are arranged essentially perpendicularly to the bore, are distributed uniformly over the circumference and into which anchoring pins, having conical tips, are inserted at both ends, the expansion element exhibiting a pointed cone portion on the side directed towards the anchoring pins.
