PURPOSE:To manufacture a marine propeller having superior corrosion resistance, high toughness, and high corrosion fatigue strength, by pouring a molten alloy in which specific percentages of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, and Mo are incorporated to Fe into a mold, by solidifying the above, and then by cooling rapidly from a temp. in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The molten alloy consisting of, by weight, <=0.08% C, 0.1-1.5% Si, 0.1-3.0% Mn, 16-19% Cr, 4.5-7.5% Ni, 0.5-2% Mo, usual impurities, and the balance iron is poured into a mold, which is solidified and then cooled rapidly from 1,000-850 deg.C. In this way, the marine propeller having high sea- water corrosion fatigue strength and reduced in deterioration of mechanical properties even if molded into heavy castings can be manufactured.
