The extrusion head (1) has, for the movable head upper part (5) and/or the head lower part, on each head side, a hydraulic cylinder (11) which is firmly connected to a fixed part (3) and whose piston rod (12) can be extended towards the movable head part (5). Between the free end of the piston rod (12) and the respective head part (5) there is provided a releasable connection which can be subjected to tensile loading. This connection preferably consists of at least two radial projections (13) which are distributed uniformly around the circumference and arranged on the piston rod (12) and a passage (15) which corresponds to the shape of the projections (13), with a bearing surface (18) in or on the head part in question. To release the connection, the piston rods (12) are each turned through half the pitch angle determined by the number of projections (13). <IMAGE>
