PURPOSE:To suppress the variation of laser power and to effectively executing image recording, power monitoring, etc., by equally setting up respective transmissivity values of two optical components in a laser beam whose polarizing directions are rectangular to each other. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam 2 having polarizing components 2A, 2B rectangular to each other is allowed to scan the surface of a scanning sheet through a galvanometer mirror 3 and a scanning lens 4. Reflection adjusting films 6, 7 are respectively formed on the surfaces of the mirror 3 and the lens 4 and the reflective indexes of the optical components 2A, 2B on respective films are set up to prescribed values. Consequently, the ratio of a laser beam 2' on the scanning surface 5 to the laser beam 2 can be fixed independently of the ratio of the polarizing in the laser beam 2, so that image recording and power monitoring can be effectively executed.
