PURPOSE:To reduce the height of a surge tank by arranging upper and lower outlets alternately on the side wall of a surge tank partitioned into two, upper and lower chambers by a partition wall, and forming the partition wall like a wave-form curved along the peripheral edges of opening ends of the upper and lower outlet ports. CONSTITUTION:In case of executing the titled intake device in a 6-cylindered vee- engine, in a surge tank 11 to which the upstream ends of independent intake pipes connected to air intake ports of the respective cylinders are coupled, the interior of the surge tank is divided into the upper and lower intake air extension chambers 13, 14 by a partition wall 12. intake air outlet porte 15, 16 are formed on the respective upper and lower intake air extension chambers 13, 14, and the respective upper and lower intake air outlet ports 15, 16 are respectively connected to independent air intake passages of front and rear banks not adjacent to each other in the order of ignition. this case, the respective intake air outlet ports 15, 16 are arranged alternately, and formed in such a manner that a part of each port is positioned between the other intake air outlet ports 15, 16. Corresponding to the arrangement, the partition wall 12 is formed like a wave-form in the state of contacting the peripheral edge of the respective intake air outlet ports 15, 16.
