To achieve synchronism between their rams, forging machines with a plurality of rams moved radially by working pistons and cylinders and carrying the forging tools are connected to two oppositely acting pistons of equal area guided in cylinders for each ram, the cylinder space of one ram which decreases during the ram movement being connected to the cylinder space of another ram which increases during the ram movement. If the rams are moved with an adjustable stroke length, the synchronism of the rams is brought about in a simple and operationally reliable manner according to the invention by the fact that the cylinders (26, 27) guiding the pistons (29, 30) bringing about the synchronism of the various rams (5) are each supported on the yoke plates (7), by means of which the piston-cylinder units (5, 6) dimensioned for the working stroke can be adjusted (9, 10) in a known manner to adjust the stroke length. <IMAGE>
