PURPOSE:To efficiently correct aberrations on an axis and outside the axis only by a single lens by setting up specific conditional inequalities among a focal distance, a radius of curvature and thickness on the axis by the single lens having aspherical faces on both sides. CONSTITUTION:Conditional inequalities I-III are set up about the focal distance (f), the radius of curvature and the thickness (d) on the axis of the single lens having aspherical faces on both sides. The inequality I is formed about the correction of a working distance and astigmatism, the working distance is made unsufficient when the lower limit is exceeded, and at the time of exceeding the upper limit, the correction of astigmatism is made difficult. In the inequality II formed about the correction of eccentric comatic aberration, the working distance is made unsufficient when the lower limit is exceeded, and at the time of exceeding the upper limit, the correction of the comatic aberration can be made unsufficient. In the inequality III, the thickness (d) is reduced and the astigmatism is easily generated when the lower limit is exceeded, and at the time of exceeding the upper limit, the working distance is made unsufficient. Thereby, the aberration on the axis and outside the axis can be efficiently corrected only by the single lens.
