Layer-type heat barrier for thermal insulation of pipe, tube and container walls, in particular exhaust gas pipes of internal combustion engines. Said barrier comprises at least one plate element surrounding the wall of the pipe, and at least one thermal insulating layer, which is arranged concentrically to the directrix of the pipe to be thermally insulated and forms at least a practically closed space filled with accumulated air, gas or another type of thermally insulating material. The invention consists essentially in that at least one limiting wall of at least one thermal insulation layer, in particular an air gap (2) of the heat barrier applied to the inner wall (3) of the pipe to be insulated, comprises at least one spiked plate (1), which is provided with needle-like spacing elements on the surface which project at least on one side from the surface of the plate, and is preformed into a three-dimensional product which adapts to the respective configuration of each pipe wall (3) to be thermally insulated. |
