PURPOSE:To enable even a user having no knowledge of how to read KANJI (Chinese characters) and the radicals of KANJI, etc., to have an easy input of KANJI, by providing an element designation operating means and an input indication operating means. CONSTITUTION:One or plural component elements contained in the KANJI to be supplied are selected and designated out of the KANJI component elements set previously by an element indication operating means. then the candidate KANJI containing all designated component elements are retrieved out of a dictionary and displayed. An input indication operating means instructs the input of the target KANJI selected from those candidate ones. Thus the relevant KANJI is selected for input. In such a way, even the KANJI whose reading ways and radicals are not known can be easily selected for input without consulting a Chinese-Japanese dictionary.
