There is described an apparatus for gripping and positioning parts arranged in succession, using grippers for the parts which make it possible to pick up, position and release the parts. The apparatus according to the invention is distinguished in that there is provided at least one connecting element on which at least two grippers are articulated to be movable through at least 180@ about an axis perpendicular to the connecting element by means of in each case one rotary joint for the rotatory displacement of the apparatus from a positioned part to the location of the next part to be positioned. The apparatus according to the invention thus has the advantage that traversing and resetting of the apparatus is unnecessary, since each positioning operation performed at the same time means that a new starting position is reached by a corresponding rotatory movement.
