A circuit arrangement for determining the attitude of a motor vehicle has a sensor (3), which is arranged in the cylinder of a shock-absorber coaxially with its piston, and has two coils (4, 5). The coils (4, 5) are connected together on one side and are connected at the two other ends to a bridge circuit, which has a variable choke coil (9, 10) in each of two branches and resistors (11, 12) in the other two branches. A change in position of the piston (2) in the cylinder of the shock-absorber leads to a change in inductance, and hence to de-tuning of the bridge circuit (8), to a voltage difference (at the terminals 14, 15) and to an output signal (at the terminal 18).
