FURNACE FOR WIRE-DRAWING OF OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To enhance heat insulation effect and to stably use the titled device for a long period by arranging cylindrical heat insulated vessel or like to the outer periphery of a heating element which surrounds a cylindrical furnace core pipe fed with a base material of optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A furnace for wire-drawing of optical fiber is formed from a cylindrical furnace core pipe 8 fed with a base material 4 of optical fiber, a heating element 12 surrounding it, a heat insulated vessel 15 and furthermore a cylindrical heat insulated wall body 21 in addition thereto. The above- mentioned heat insulated vessel 15 surrounds the outer periphery of the heating element 12 and also the particles 15a of a heat resistant heat insulator are packed therein. Further the heat insulated wall body 21 is arranged between the heat insulated vessel 15 and the heating element 12.
