PURPOSE:To eliminate an image defect even if a jam occurs by feeding a film in the opposite direction from a feeding direction if the jam occurs before copying paper is discharged to a discharge part after the start of the feeding of the film, and stopping the film when a mark is detected. CONSTITUTION:When the number of frames in a group to be copied is K, the number K of the frames is set simultaneously with the input of their group mark. If it is judged that there is a jam signal after exposure, a photoelectric element 11 retrieves a last frame and after the frame where the jam occurs is returned to a copying position, a jam display illuminates and a power source is turned off. When an operator removes the paper jam state according to the jam display, it is judged that the jam state is removed, and the power source is turned on to restart copying operation. Consequently, such trouble that a copy having an image omission is obtained is eliminated.
