PURPOSE:To obtain the title high-polymerization degree homogeneous amide excellent in elastic recovery, by reacting a specified polyhexamethyleneadipamide with a specified dicarboxylic acid polyoxyalkylene glycol through amide bonds. CONSTITUTION:Polyhexamethyleneadipamide (A) of an average-MW of 400-2,000, having amino groups on both ends, is reacted with a dicarboxylic acid polyoxyalkylene glycol (B) of an average MW of 500-3,000, to each of which ends a dicarboxylic acid is bonded through an ester bond through amide bonds to obtain the purpose compound. In order to obtain a product of a high degree of polymerization, it is desirable that the molar ratio in the polycondensation of (A) with (B) is adjusted to unity as strictly as possible by measuring the terminal amino groups of (A) and the terminal carboxyl groups of (B). Said amide can be obtained by mixing (A) with (B) at 230 deg.C or above in a nitrogen stream while distilling off the formed water from the system.
