PURPOSE:To secure the steering stability at an open circuit of sensors by detecting the open circuit of individual sensors and transferring the attenuation rate and spring constant to larger values at the open circuit in a suspension device having a variable-attenuation shock absorber and a variable-spring constant spring. CONSTITUTION:A short-circuit detection circuit 15 invariably monitors a short circuit of signal output lines of individual sensors 2, 3, 12, 17, 18, and when it detects the short circuit of signal lines of individual sensors, it outputs a sensor short-circuit signal to a control circuit 1, which then outputs attenuation rate transfer signals to a shock absorber 5 and an air spring 9 regardless of the presence of sensor outputs and transfers so as to invariably keep a hard condition. Thereby, the steering stability can be secured even if no sensor signal is inputted during abrupt motion changes of a car body. |
