PURPOSE:To obtain a carrier for magnetic brush development used for developing an electrostatic latent image by spraying and cooling the melt of a carrier material essentially consisting of a binder resin contg. a co-existence polymer of a fluorine-contained monomer and polyolefin and magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:The melt of the carrier material essentially consisting of the resin contg. the co-existence polymer of the fluorine-contained monomer and polyolefin and the fine magnetic particles is sprayed and cooled. Radically polymerizable fluorine-contained compds. or all of combinations of said fluorine- contained compds. and general radical polymerizable monomers copolymerizable therewith are usable as the fluorine-contained monomer co-existence polymerized with the polyolefin. Then, the carrier is used as the magnetic brush developer for developing the electrostatic latent image. Since the fluorine-contained monomer has extremely low surface energy, the stable fluorine-contained layer is formed in one stage on the carrier surface. The longer life of the carrier is thus obtd. by the decreased toner impaction to the carrier. |
