PURPOSE:To easily, quickly and economically detect the segregation state of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, etc., in steel and the solidified structure thereof in the same manner as in a sulfur print test by using soln. contg. specific iron ion, nonoxidative acid in respectively prescribed amts. CONSTITUTION:A thickened part of impurity elements is corroded quickly at an ordinary temp. if the soln. contg. >=1% tervalent iron ion and 0.1-5% nonoxidative acid and water as a solvent is used. The segregation state of the carbon, manganese, phosphorus, etc., in the steel and the solidified structure thereof are, therefore, easily, quickly and economically detected in the same manner as in the sulfur print test.
