In order to filter the microscopically small spherical abrasion particles of electro-discharge machines out of the dielectric fluid, a labyrinth-type filter is provided which has at least one filter unit with a pressure reservoir (21) which is loosely filled with filter grains. The entry area is relatively small compared with the passage height, and the filter pump is matched to the sizes mentioned in such a way that the dielectric fluid in the labyrinth has a flow velocity of at least 2 m/min. Thus vacuum zones form behind the individual filter grains, in which vacuum zones the microscopically small, spherical abrasion particles are caught. <IMAGE> |
