PURPOSE:To obtain an effective printed density even for a printed density designation to be used in an optical reader or the like, by operating a ribbon end switch on the side of a printer after printing a predetermined quantity of images. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 4 is clamped between a feeding roller 5 and a pressure roller 6, in a loop form. When the feeding roller 5 is rotated by a predetermined relatively large number of rotations, rotatable member 9 is rotated, a contact part 15 comes into contact with a lower part of a movable member 12 to move the member 12 in the direction of an arrow E, and the member 12 is further moved largely along a guide groove 11 in the direction of an arrow F by a spring 14, thereby operating a ribbon end switch, e.g., microswitch. By this, it is possible to obviate an error such as misreading at the time of reading a printed matter by an optical character reader or the like. |
