PURPOSE:To improve the heat resistance of a soda lime glass vessel by forming a compressive stress layer on the external surface of the soda lime glass vessel consisting primarily of SiO2, CaO, and Na2O and forming further coated film of silicone resin thereon. CONSTITUTION:A soda lime glass vessel consisting primarily of 60-80wt.% SiO2, 5-20wt.% CaO, and 5-20wt.% Na2O is prepd. Then, a compressive stress layer is formed on the external surface of said glass vessel by the chemical reinforcing method. Further, silicone resin is coated on said external surface. Thin film of the silicone resin is formed on the surface by heat-setting said resin.
