PURPOSE:To prevent spoilage, deterioration of a paper conveyor member and overheating of the inside of a casing, by providing a driving apparatus which causes all the shutters to pivot simultaneously, in response to a suspending operation of the printer, such that the opening of the casing is closed in a blind- like manner. CONSTITUTION:When the printer is suspended in order to replace a pile table 24 of a delivery apparatus 4 with an empty pile table because the amount of paper 5 on the pile table 24 has reached a predetermined value, a piston rod 45 of an air cylinder 44 is expanded through a controller. Through a lever 46 and a slide angle 48, a slide pin 49 causes a shutter 41 to pivot against its own weight. Consequently, the opening of a casing 31 is closed with a space left between the adjacent shutters 41 in the same manner that a blind is closed, thereby shutting off radiation heat. In this case, the pile of paper 5 is at rest together with a delivery chain 17. There is, however, no possibility that the paper 5 may be discolored, deformed or burnt on heating. Further, although the shutters 41 are closed, a space is formed between the adjacent shutters 41. Therefore, there is no possibility that the inside of the casing 31 may be overheated. |
